R+D+I in the Food and Health Industry:

CONTACTICA staff is fully aware of the effect of food on health, in particular the effect of diet in the prevention of diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. The activities in relation to the food industry are directed to the development and intensification of production processes, which allow a better use of raw materials and less waste production.

CONTACTICA has been actively involved in the following areas, for the preparation of projects and their presentation to public bodies for funding, implementation and / or technical assistance:

  • Food: development of innovative production processes, improvement of food treatment and distribution processes, new market outlets for the use of by-products.
  • Health: diet-disease relationship, functional ingredient development
  • Ageing: prevention of diseases, with a special focus on coronary heart disease.

R+D+i in Environment and Eco-innovation

One of the main problems of our clients in the industry lies in the high volume of waste generated each year, with the economic and environmental factor that this entails. For this reason, our technicians are committed to the revaluation of this waste at the plant in order to generate value-added by-products that can be commercially exploited.

We participate in the development of water and air treatment technologies through innovative and more environmentally friendly processes. Continuing with the line of projects that support sustainability, and in the current context of energy crisis, CONTACTICA staff proposes new project ideas in the construction sector in order to minimise energy demand in buildings. In addition, the implementation of renewable energy generating systems in prefabricated houses and buildings is sought.

  • Eco-innovation: Development of new materials. Biorefinery processes. Revaluation of waste to obtain new products. Improvement of energy efficiency in processes and buildings.
